lyrics

Last night I had the strangest dream
As all the trees would speak to me
Of cedars in a moving sea
Vaster than the eye could see

Uprooting all the grey we've grown
Just to claim their rightful home
We were careless with the world we spent
Forgot to let the seeds grow

Now all we've got are blackened streets
Still blacker are the hearts we've grown
Careless as a newborn fawn
Did this world know we'd kill it all along?

Exhaust fumes and saws that roar
We've swallowed this world with our gaping jaws
If only we could wipe the tar from our eyes
And wake up to this devastation

Last night I had the strangest dream
Of climbing roots and moss so green
A forest as lush as it could be
And wandering rivers to flow free

Last night I saw the way things were
And how they could always be

The Wilderness will rise again
